First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
What this means is that the Nazis took specific groups of people to kill. The overall thinking of the Holocaust. What makes this so famous was how true it was. Everyone was scared to speak up, since it didn't effect them. Once it did, there was no one to stop them from being killed. This Nazi wanted to help. So when the Nazis found out what he was doing, there was no one to stop them from killing him. Just like what happened in the Holocaust. In the movie, you don't have a choice to live or die. You were forced, even if you are strong, useful, a kid, or a Nazi.
Each piece is very similar with the topic, so we are not going over that. One major difference is the tone in the movie. It is sad, but it has humor aspects. Humor in a Holocaust themed movie? The dad in the movie made the Holocaust a big game for the kid so he won't know what's going on or be mortified. If you were to read anything else about the Holocaust, it would be depressing. If you were to watch the movie, you would actually enjoy the humor aspects and see the Holocaust in a new light. Pretty interesting.
Life is, I guess, beautiful. Moments like our imagination and love makes it beautiful. For example, thinking about an adventure through free time, or a tough time. In the movie, the kid thought the camps were a big battlefield game. There were obstacles, challenges, and more, which makes life fun. The treasure, or end goal, makes life beautiful, like the tank reward in the movie. What makes life beautiful is love. When the kid *spoiler* retreats with his mom makes it more enjoyable and comfortable.
Carry on.
Just wondering, but is the font color going to be fixed?
ReplyDeleteJust realized it. I wrote this during Spring Break, so I was lazy.
DeleteI think that the comedic lines in the Holocaust segment of the movie reveals a bit of optimism, as if it isn't so bad and that they will make it through.
